Slide is a one-of-a-kind hair ornament centered around a 5.7 carat carved amethyst rose.
The piece began with an interest in the elaborate adornments of earlier eras, when jewelry extended beyond the conventional and became part of how one carried themselves. That idea led to a simple question: where are the extraordinary hair ornaments of that tradition today?
Slide is an exploration of that possibility. Hand-fabricated in Argentium silver, the structure was designed to function as a hair slide while maintaining the presence and detail of a sculptural object. The carved amethyst rose becomes both its focal point and its defining gesture.
Created as functional art, Slide is intended to be worn, used, and experienced as an object of adornment.
