Dennis Moreno — Artist & Metalsmith

Dennis Moreno is the artist and metalsmith behind Crystalyst Vibrations, an independent jewelry studio based in the Southern California desert.

His work begins with the stone. Rather than designing around a predetermined idea, Moreno allows the natural character, shape, color, and imperfections of each mineral to influence what the finished piece becomes. Every design is developed by hand and fabricated individually, resulting in one-of-a-kind jewelry that exists somewhere between adornment and sculpture.

Working primarily in Argentium silver and gold, Moreno combines traditional metalsmithing techniques with an intuitive, free-flowing approach to fabrication. Hand-cut metal, engraving, texturing, stone setting, and carefully developed surface finishes become part of the visual language of each piece.

His connection to minerals began through a fascination with the places they come from and the stories contained within them. Collecting stones, exploring the desert, and studying the natural formations that produce them have become an important part of his creative process. That relationship with the material continues into the studio, where each stone becomes the starting point for something entirely its own.

Crystalyst Vibrations is built around the belief that jewelry does not need to be reproduced to be valuable. Each piece is made as an individual work designed, fabricated, and finished by the artist with the intention that it will never be exactly replicated.

For Moreno, the goal is not simply to make jewelry, but to create objects with a sense of permanence, character, and connection to the natural material that inspired them.
