The Medicine Bag pendants are some of my earliest works. I developed them as a simple wire-wrap form for holding multiple natural minerals together, allowing the character of the stones themselves to remain the focus.
I set my stones with intention, choosing them for what they bring to the piece and allowing the arrangement to develop from there. With these pendants, I wasn't looking for perfectly cut gemstones or polished cabochons. I wanted to work with minerals in their natural state their irregular shapes, surfaces, and inherent character suspended within Argentium silver and in this piece, 14k gold.
This pendant features a substantial natural Kyanite with a smaller Kunzite set within the structure. The simplicity of the wirework allows the minerals to remain exposed rather than enclosing them in a traditional gemstone setting.
