Donatello is a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings built around approximately 20 carats of natural purple and green tourmaline.
Rather than cutting or reshaping the tourmaline, the stones are left in their natural form and surrounded by a bed of individually fabricated Argentium silver flowers. Each earring is constructed by hand, allowing the irregularity of the mineral to become part of the composition.
The result balances something wild and mineralogical with something delicate and refined—an exploration of how raw material can be transformed into an elegant form of adornment.
